May is only a couple of days away and everyone at Precious Butterflies is super excited! During this month the children will be celebrating all of the amazing things their mother’s do for them everyday, talking about the animals that live over in the meadow, learning about the differences between birds and butterflies, and exploring all sorts of different bugs.

We are going to be having a super special Mother’s Day Tea to say thank you to all of the moms of our wonderful students. Please keep posted as to the details when Mother’s Day is closer upon us.

April has been passing by in a blur of raindrops and earth day projects! The children have learned all about the weather, spring, plants that grow in the springtime, and tons about rain. They have created beautiful flowers using their hand prints and rainbow glue. They have planted beans and watched them grow over the days. They have soaked up water inside their cotton ball “clouds” and made them “rain” by squeezing them. We have also had a bunch of beautiful days to enjoy outside on the playground.

Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the playground. They need to have a small jacket while the weather is still cool and wear close toed shoes. This will help to ensure the safety and well being of your child. Thank you for all of you help.

Let’s get ready to make some rainbows! Next week we are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by making shamrocks, rainbows, and pots o’ gold. Tuesday we will have a special snack to celebrate and don’t forget to wear green!

We have endured some pretty harsh winter days so far this year but hopefully not for much longer. Spring is right about the corner and we have tons of new things planned for the children. This month we are celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday as well as St. Patrick’s Day. We will also be talking about how March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb (hopefully!), spring, and plants.

Be sure to check your child’s cubby for the new calendar at the end of every month or check out our calendar page found here on our website.

December is a very busy month with the holidays getting close. Here are just a few reminders to help keep everyone on track.

***We will have an early dismissal Wednesday Dec 24th @1pm.***

***We are CLOSED on Thursday Dec 25th and CLOSED on Friday Dec 27th.***

• Please make sure you are bringing crib sheets and blankets in on every Monday.
• Make make sure cups and bottles are brought home EVERY night.
• Please make sure to always check your child’s daily sheet in case they need supplies. Also please keep at least 2 spare outfits at the center at all times.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. Here at Precious Butterflies we are thankful for our wonderful staff who are always here to teach the children, engage them, comfort them, and laugh with them. We are especially thankful for all of the children in our care who always manage to brighten our days and put a smile on our faces! We are also truly thankful for all of the wonder parents that allow us to care for their children. We also greatly appreciate all of the participation from the parents who help make our center run smoothly. We couldn’t do it without you!

November is right around the corner! Don’t forget to grab your November calendar from your child’s teacher or check the website and facebook to find out when we have special fun things planned.

Tomorrow is our Halloween Parade and parties!

Please send your child to school in their costume with a change of clothes in a labeled plastic bag. The Parade will begin promptly at 10:00 am on the playground. Any parents who are attending the parade can wait in the center of the playground and the children will march around you. After the parade the children will be changed out of their costumes and into their change of clothes.

Parties will take place during lunch times. Please read below for the party times in each classroom.

Remember that parents are more then welcome to stay and join in the festivities. Make sure to bring your cameras! Hope to see everyone there!

Let’s kick off the school year! I would like to welcome everyone to Precious Butterflies for the 2014-2015 school year. We have tons of things planned for this year so lets make it a memorable one! Our themes this month are Back to School, 5 Senses, I Am Special, and Fall. We are going to make cinnamon applesauce for snack, arm print family apple trees, family collages, and our own homemade play dough! We can’t wait!

Summer is finally here and we have tons of fun to do! Every week is a new theme jam packed with fun and excitement! Monday officially kicks off summer camp with the theme America! America! We will have an Independence Day Party, dress in red, white, and blue and make classroom flags. We will also enjoy a special patriotic flag.

Remember to check your child’s summer camp calendar and the school calendar for what special events are taking place the next day!
